Abstract

Utilization of used equipment for reducing waste is very important. The car alternator is one component of that can be used to increase its utilization. Modification of alternators in vehicles can be generator for wind power plants. The research done is to compare the alternator output voltage before modification with the alternator output after being modified. Modification of the alternator is carried out by the load variation method. Based on the results of the measurement the alternator before and after modification shows results that are directly proportional to the output. Alternator measurement at 1100 RPM rotation produces a voltage of 4.57 Volts before further modification and than after modification produces 14.56 Volts. Analysis of the results obtained resulted in an average difference of 2.8% so that it can be concluded that the modification has not achieved maximum results.
