Abstract

AbstractAt the Taman Madukoro intersection, management settings have been changed from an unsignalized intersection to a signalized intersection, but in practice it does not function optimally. The problems in this study are 1) the effect of side barriers and traffic disturbances, 2) the level of congestion at the Taman Madukoro intersection, 3) the performance of traffic light at the Taman Madukoro intersection. This type of research is quantitative research. Quantitative research methods can be interpreted as methods carried out by processing primary data from field surveys and collecting some required information as secondary data.Based on the analysis, the results for side resistance are 1214.3 vehicles/hour for the west and 304.6 vehicles/hour for the east direction, so the side resistance class for the west direction is very high (VH) because the total weight is greater than 900 vehicles/hour with regional conditions. commercial area and high activity on the side of the road while for the east direction it is moderate (M) because the total weight is between 300-499 vehicles/hour with commercial areas and moderate activity on the side of the road. The level of congestion with traffic volume in the west is 2951 pcu/hour and 2466 pcu/hour in the east, the capacity is 1485 pcu/hour for the west and 1584 pcu/hour for the east and the degree of saturation is 1.992for the west. and 1.56 for the east. Then the level of traffic service at the Taman Madukorointersection is in the form of level F for both lanes. For slow flow conditions, low speed, volume above capacity and high side resistance. Traffic light performance with anintersection capacity of 1307.8 pcu/hour is green for the west and 842.81 pcu/hour is greenfor the east.Key words: intersection, traffic light performance, side barriers
