Abstract

SummaryLaryngo‐onycho‐cutaneous (LOC) syndrome, also known as LOGIC syndrome (Laryngeal and Ocular Granulation in children from the Indian subcontinent) or Shabbir syndrome, is typically found in Punjabi families in the Asian sub‐continent. It is a rare, autosomal recessive, epithelial disorder which results in the development of chronic vascular granulation tissue in the skin, nail beds, conjunctivae, larynx, and oro‐pharyngeal mucosa. Subsequently, it leads to formation of undulated crusted skin ulcers, conjunctival lesions, dental malformations and laryngeal stenosis. As the disease progresses, laryngeal manifestations may lead to life threatening respiratory complications requiring emergency care. We report the anaesthetic management of a 2‐yr‐old child with LOC syndrome and severe airway obstruction due to extensive laryngeal involvement.
