Abstract

An XML-based data model to represent moving points and moving regions is provided in this paper. The algorithms of two important types of queries are designed for the model. They are snapshot query and trajectory query. The moving object dataset stored in our XML-based model is generated, and experiments on the storage and query methods of spatio-temporal attributes are done on the basis of the dataset. The generation algorithm of moving regions is researched in details in this paper, and the shape change of regions is considered in the algorithm. Results show that using XML technology to store and query spatio-temporal data is especially efficient and flexible.
