Abstract

Minimum-error discrimination of the ensemble of pure states {|ϕj〉,wj} with given probabilities {wj} is considered by introducing an ancillary degree of freedom, and therefore relating the success probability ps of minimum-error discrimination to the l1-norm coherence in the ancillary degree of freedom. A new upper bound of the success probability ps is obtained this way.
