Abstract

The indications, techniques, and complications of percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) in children are analyzed, based on a 12-year experience with 288 procedures. Significant differences from the adult population in patient selection, technique, and follow-up are highlighted. Although a trend toward younger, smaller, and sicker patients was observed during the study period, PEG-related complications have steadily decreased.
