Abstract

Dislocation of temperomandibular joint accounts for 3% of all reported cases. Dislocation of condyle occurs in anterior, medial, lateral and posterior direction. A dislocation into the middle cranial fossa, in superolateral direction and posterior dislocation are considered rare and unusual. We report a case of superolateral dislocation in an 8-year-old girl with history of trauma, with emphasis on clinical feature, etiology of injury and probable complications associated with fracture/dislocation of condyle.
