Abstract

A case report is presented of a thymoma with unusual histological features including the presence of striated muscle (myoid) cells as an intrinsic part of the tumour. Both light and electron microscopy of the thymoma are described, the subject of striated muscle (myoid) cells in thymus is briefly reviewed, and the designation of the tumour as a thymic blastoma is suggested.
