Abstract
Shimazu noted the reduced size and spination of the cirrus pouch of A. suwaense in comparison to that of A. exile. My observations of A. suwaense in Wisconsin are in agreement with those of Shimazu. Comparison of A. suwaense with A. pojmanskae is difficult in that Fischthal (loc. cit.) did not obtain adult specimens. Metacercariae of the two species of Amblosoma now known to occur in the United States can be differentiated by their size and allometric growth rate. In A. suwaense, the metacercaria attains a body size approximately twice that reached by A. pojmanskae, but gonadal maturation occurs at a much slower rate than in A. pojmanskae. Metacercariae of A. suwaense from Campeloma decisum O'Neil Creek, Chippewa Co., Wisconsin, and adults grown in chicken eggs have been deposited as Nos. 75828 and 75829 USNM Helm Collection. eir size and allometric growth rate. In A. se, the metacercari attains a body size
