Abstractmagnified imageTrifluoroacetolysis of thiostrepton followed by treatment with methanol and aqueous sodium hydroxide led to the formation of N‐(2‐picolinoyl)serine methyl ester, the first pyridine‐containing compound isolated from the chemical degradation of thiostrepton.
