# {#article-title-2} To the Editor: Desestret et al.1 consider hypertrophic branchial myopathy an unusual cause of symptomatic tension-type headache based on a single case. A pathophysiologic mechanism linking these conditions is missing, thereby making their hypothesis speculative. Pain perception studies have suggested that altered myofacial nociception plays an important role in the pathogenesis of episodic tension-type headache.2 To our knowledge, patients with hypertrophic branchial myopathy have not been included in these studies.
