Abstract
Abstract Gastrointestinal (GI) mucormycosis is a life-threatening infection caused by fungi of the subphylum Mucoromycotina, order Mucorales. GI mucormycosis is rarely seen in immunocompetent patients. The symptoms of GI mucormycosis are varied and depend on the affected site. Nonspecific abdominal pain and distention associated with nausea and vomiting are the most common symptoms. They rarely presents as hematochezia.
