Abstract

Thyrotoxic periodic paralysis (TPP) is an acute condition characterized by sudden onset of muscle weakness and paralysis in the setting of hypokalemia. This condition has the highest incidence in Asian males but is becoming increasingly common in individuals of different ethnicities as well.
