Abstract

Abstract Dehydrogenative dimerization of (Z)-1,4-bis(trimethylsilyl)-1,2,3-butatriene was catalyzed by Pd complexes in the presence of allyl halides to give predominantly an acyclic conjugated enyne, while addition of methylaluminoxane (MAO) instead of allyl halides produced an unprecedented dimer that has an alkynyl-substituted cyclopentadienyl structure.
