Abstract

The article discusses a painting Card Game by Dutch painter Pieter de Hooch housed in the Tel Aviv Museum of Art in Tel Aviv, Israel. It describes how the painting came into the museum's possession and how it escaped public and scholarly attention. Then the condition of the painting is addressed. Next the composition of the painting, and apparent changes made are also described. Finally, how the work was attributed to de Hooch and comparison to the artists' known works are described.
