Abstract

Underwater propulsion system using PZT transducer, as a new type of underwater propulsion system, has been studied. At that time, (Bi, Na, Ba)(Ti, Mn)O3, namely BNBTM lead-free piezoelectric ceramics were noticed. Through comparative experiments, lead-free BNBTM piezoelectric ceramics are not only friendly to the environment and the human body, but it is also that the material properties of BNBTM piezoelectric ceramics are more stable than that of PZT piezoelectric ceramics. Therefore, this research mainly discusses the feasibility of using a BNBTM transducer in the underwater propulsion system by the measurement of the system’s propulsion, BNBTM transducer’s admittance characteristic, and the speed of swimmer with the underwater propulsion system.
