Abstract

The paper describes an undergraduate course in Switchgear and Protection offered to final year electrical power engineering students at the Western Australian Institute of Technology. The reasons for introducing the course and the selection of material included in it are discussed, and its method of presentation and assessment are covered. Detailed syllabi for both the switchgear and protection sections are included, along with the main sources of reference.
