Abstract

The contribution, nominates and examines a compact micro-strip fed dual band rejected Ultra- wideband (UWB) diversity/Multiple-Input–Multiple-Output (MIMO) antenna array with a novel Fractal neutralization line for isolation enhancement and novel slots etched on the monopoles for owing band notch functionality. A thin rectangular stub along with a fractal neutralization line is employed in this endeavor for designing the isolation improvement structures. The antenna exhibits UWB characteristics ranging from 3.2 GHz to 12 GHz. The monopoles and the ground structure of the antenna are realized with a gross size of 58.7 mm × 47.03 mm = 2760.66 mm2. Two rejection bands are created at 5.5 GHz and 6.3 -7.27 (6.785 GHz) GHz for notching the wireless local area network (WLAN) band and IEEE INSAT/Super-Extended C-band respectively. Moreover, the envelope correlation coefficient and diversity gain of the UWB MIMO antenna are numerically calculated, which depicts high diversity performance. The concurrence admits that the diverse numerical conclusions verify that the proposed contribution can be an excellent aspirant for portable UWB as well as UWB diversity/MIMO systems.
