Abstract

Visible light communication (VLC) becomes a potential basic inter-connection technology for Internet of Things (IoT) services due to the advantages of ubiquitous light emitting diodes (LEDs). In this paper, a novel non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) scheme without serial interference cancellation (SIC) process is employed in baseband VLC system. The scheme is based on rate allocation and corresponding gain which could enhance the received signal to interference noise ratio (SINR). Simulation results show that the proposed scheme could achieve better bit error ratio and avoid error propagation (EP) compared to the conventional NOMA scheme.
