Abstract

An SEM study of a unique stridulatory organ of males of the grasshopper, Paktia gardezae Pfadt, reveals dome-shaped pegs in the file and conical pegs in the scraper. A file is on the upper surface near the anal margin of each of the tegmina; the scraper pegs are on the veins of the ventral surface of each tegmen, also in the anal vein area.
