Abstract

This document aims at giving an overview on different techniques used for driving power ultrasonic piezoelectric transducers (PT). One issue with ultrasonic transducers is that they have to be driven at their resonant frequency, otherwise their efficiency is drastically decreased. Both linear power supplies as well as switched-mode power supplies are used to drive PT at their resonance. Different topologies and structures proposed in the literature are discussed and the results are validated with experimental works.
