Abstract

Neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) are a set of infectious diseases that primarily affect populations living in low-income countries, caused by a diversity of pathogens such as viruses, bacteria, and parasites, and can lead to significant morbidity and mortality. It is estimated that 1 billion people are affected worldwide by NTDs.
