Abstract

An overview is given of the problem of determining pressure and temperature conditions in the containment following a degraded core accident, so that structural analysts can determine the requirements for an adequate evaluation of a containment under such conditions. Also examples are given of typical expected loadings for various reactor types and containment designs.
