An Overview of Detection and Prediction of Seizure or Epilepsy

Abstract

Epilepsy is a critical symptomatic attribute of cerebral dysfunction where the performance of nervous cells gets disturbed. The basic character of seizure or epilepsy is unforeseen and results in a misunderstanding by the patient and onlookers in the family or elsewhere causing insecurity and unsafe conditions for all concerned. This causes damage and injury to major organs, hence a life threat. Prediction and detection of seizures is a vital aspect. Its prediction and warning could help avoid any type of epileptic stages to protect the patient from internal losses owing to such attacks is a challenge for the medical and surgical fields in minimizing risk management to enhance a better lifestyle. This work ensures the causes, prediction and detection to find the reasons behind epileptic conditions and necessarily elaborates conditions of seizures, its stages and types viz. preictal, ictal, interictal, postictal respectively.
