Abstract

The anode current ratings of many industrial and therapeutic X-ray tubes are constant up to a certain kilovoltage and then decrease as the kilovoltage rises. An overload device for inclusion in the control equipment used with such tubes is described; it ensures reasonable compliance of the overload setting with the current rating of the tube, irrespective of the kilovoltage setting.
