Abstract

An over voltage protection circuit that protects the load from over voltages, in case of series transistor failure in a series regulator is discussed here. If the series transistor gets open between collector and emitter terminals, output becomes zero. In case of a short this circuit comes into action and makes the output voltage fall to zero.
