Abstract
Historiography is a science that studies the sources, values, and use of historical material. It falls into two categories: (1) A general theory dealing with the laws of collecting, appraising, and utilizing historical material; and (2) a specific study focusing on the sources, values, and use of historical material during a specific historical period or in a specific historical sphere.
