Abstract

Time-domain enhanced inter-cell interference coordination (eICIC) scheme using almost blank sub-frames (ABS) is one of the key technologies in Heterogeneous networks (Het-net). Static configuration of ABS has been proven to increase performance but the optimal ABS ratio is yet to be examined. Moreover, combing Coordinated Multi-Point transmission (CoMP), ABS could be more efficiency. This paper proposes an optimization of time-domain resource allocation for ABS scheme. Combining CoMP technology, it adjusts the portion of ABS sub-frame to improve the system performance on the basis of the requirement of the rate in the hot spot. The system level simulations demonstrates that the proposed scheme can not only improve the overall system throughout significantly but also provide better cell edge user's spectral efficiency.
