Abstract

In this paper, a digital deadbeat control technique based on a disturbance observer is presented to facilitate the control of a three-phase voltage source inverter (VSI). This control technique is implemented on a VSI interfaced with LC filter to control voltage across the load, during its operation in stand-alone mode. The deadbeat controller is employed with state estimator and disturbance observer to compensate the computational delay and predict time-varying disturbances. This study offers relatively higher convergence rate for system disturbances to ensure excellent transient performance, during varying load conditions and good capability to reduce the steady state error. The performance of presented deadbeat controller is also compared with a conventional PI controller. A MATLAB/Simulink model is developed to authenticate the improved performance of the presented dead beat controller.
