Abstract

A marginal utility based base station (BS) sleeping spatial adaptive play (SAP) algorithm is proposed to study base station sleeping strategy considering user preference and base station load. Based on the marginal utility, a potential game model is proposed, which is proved to be an exact potential game. The optimum solution of network energy efficiency is one of Nash Equilibria of the exact potential game. The simulation results show that the marginal utility based BS-sleeping SAP algorithm is superior to the best response algorithm in the normalized network energy efficiency index as well as convergence speed.
