Abstract

For the magnetic coupled wireless power transfer system, the designing for coils is important to improve the power transfer efficiency. A larger ratio of mutual inductance to resistance is preferred for MC- WPT system to achieve a higher power transfer efficiency. In this paper, the key parameters including outer diameter of coil, the number of turns and the separation distance between adjacent turns are optimized after the ratio of mutual inductance to AC resistance is analyzed. Based on the genetic algorithm, the optimal parameters to increase the efficiency are obtained when the ratio reaches maximum value. The coil fabricated through proposed optimization method is verified to achieve the highest power transfer efficiency by simulation results, and the optimization method is validated to be feasible by the experimental results.
