Abstract

A switch consisting of small switching elements in multi-stages is considered to be a good candidate for switch design in terms of cost and complexity. In this paper we construct a multi-stage optical packet switch based on a multilayer Kautz graph. The switching path is built upon the routing scheme in the regular Kautz graph. Good performance evaluation in terms of latency, packet loss and complexity is obtained. Implementation of this architecture with star couplers is also discussed.
