Abstract

In this paper we propose a new method based on open quantum system approach for simulating the operation of spin networks as a Boolean logic gate. This method makes it possible to study the dynamics of occupation probabilities and investigate the influence of the environmental parameters on the gate's performance. These in turn make it possible to estimate the total gate's error probability as a function of temperature and switching speed. We test the validity of our method by applying it to a spin chain proposed as a NAND gate.
