Abstract
Effective Student Models, capable of identifying and predicting the level of knowledge of students, are a key requirement in modern educational systems. In addition, it is important that the students themselves realize their level of knowledge at a given time, so they can self-regulate their learning process. Thus, this paper describes OSM-V, an Open Student Model with Information Visualization capabilities which allow students and instructors to assess information inferred in educational systems. To evaluate the perception of utility and behavioral changes in students who used the model, this paper also brings experiments regarding its integration to a real educational platform. Results showed that this proposal can positively impact students' learning and positively influence their behavior.
