Abstract
Some time ago I received a cordial invitation to join Americans for Democratic Action. In spite of the many fine things for which your organization stands, notably civil liberties, I could not become a member because of what seems to me a cardinal error for any organization calling itself liberal, namely, making Anti-Communism a basic plank.
