Abstract

This letter describes an effective online method for identifying both the stator resistance and the back-electromotive-force (EMF) coefficient of a permanent-magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) without rotational transducers. Using only the information of stator currents and voltages, it can provide fairly good identification accuracy under various load conditions and can be easily incorporated into most sensorless speed control schemes proposed in the prior literature.
