Abstract
AbstractThis article describes the basic elements in the Rutherford Laboratory on‐line film measurement system, in which twelve film measuring machines are connected on line to an IBM 1130. The 1130 is linked to an IBM 360/195 by a parallel data link. The article mentions some of the lessons learnt in going on‐line and describes current and future developments.
