Abstract

Abstract I report an observation of singing by a Canada Warbler (Wilsonia canadensis) in basic or female plumage. The individual was observed three times over a period of 5 days. The timing of the observation in the annual cycle of this species suggests this to be the first reported example of singing by a female Canada Warbler. Previous reports of female song in the congeneric Wilson's Warbler (Wilsonia pusilla) and Hooded Warbler (Wilsonia citrina) support this inference.
