Abstract
An occurrence of permanent strain during recrystallization and growth of an extra low-carbon steel under externally applied stress much lower than the yield stress of the steel was observed by dilatometric measurement. This suggests that the transformation-plasticity-like deformation can occur even in the reaction which is barely accompanied with the internal stress caused by volume change.
