Abstract

Many problems of engineering are described only by great non-linear systems of differential equations. Their equations often have a similar structure. Usually such problems cannot be solved by an analogue computer because the capacity of such a computer is too limited. In this paper an iterative method, based on the principle of the successive approximation, will be given which will enable the solution of non-linear systems of differential equations of any size by a hybrid computer under certain conditions. The method can be applied to initial value problems of the second order but modified for those of a higher order also.
