Abstract

The amount of information processed in the edu-cational component of the university is very important to be well managed through traditional methods. In addition, most of this information is on paper or on individual computers, which further complicates their processing. The smart university is a promising solution that will overcome most of the problems that slow down the development process of universities. This paper proposes a new pedagogy management system based on IoT tech-nology and the Hadoop framework to manage distributed data. The main objective is to respond to the limitations and challenges of existing systems and to provide an information system that helps its users to make intelligent decisions. Additionally, with the integration of the Hadoop cluster, the system provides better analysis times as the data grows. This article also presents a systematic review of papers that integrated new technologies into operations, processes, skills and models in education and, in particular, in academic institutions. The proposed system was tested in a real environment in the computer science department at the University of Guelma and the obtained results are very satisfactory.
