Abstract

This study investigates the thermoluminescence (TL) dosimetric properties and kinetic parameters of natural salt samples sourced from the Çankırı rock salt cave in Turkey using β irradiation. Obvious effective TL maximum observed at around 85°C and 230C°C. A preheat condition was determined to apply a thermal cleaning for the lower temperature side of TL spectrum. Dose sensitivity, linearity and reusability characteristics were investigated for effective TL maximum on the high temperature side of the spectrum. TL kinetic parameters were determined via various heating rates (VHR) experiment, and whole TL glow curve was studied via experiment and glow curve deconvolution. General order kinetics approach was utilized for glow curve deconvolution analysis. Kinetic parameters were determined for at least eight electron trap levels which has activation energies in the range of 0.8-1.53 eV.
