Abstract

In the present investigation, the influence of three-dimensional printing orientation (0 and 90 degrees) on the mechanical properties has been evaluated for acrylonitrile butadiene styrene plastic and polylactic acid polymer specimens. Further, results found the significant influence of printing orientation on tensile strength, yield strength, and flexural strength for acrylonitrile butadiene styrene and polylactic acid was between 17.80 (minimum) to 77.67% (maximum). The percentage difference between three-point bending finite element analysis and experimental results was 3.05% which exhibited the good prediction capability of the developed finite element analysis model.
