Abstract

This research paper focuses on an investigation of student's participation and satisfaction toward online learning at Universiti Teknologi MARA Pahang. Poor participation of students becomes major problem to implement online learning. 200 of questionnaires were distributed among Diploma in Office Management and Bachelor in Office System Management at UiTM Pahang. Thus, this paper is very important to investigate the student's participation and satisfaction in online learning. There are three research objectives were developed for this paper. The first objective is to identify the type of online learning activities among students. The second objective is to investigate the approaches used by lecturers to encourage student's participation in online learning. The third objective is to test the relationship between student's participation and satisfactions towards online learning. The researcher has found out that the most online learning activities used among students is online test and quiz, followed by searching for notes and online group discussion. Furthermore, upload assignment in group forum is the highly used approach by lecturers to encourage student's participation. The researcher has found out that there is a significant positive relationship between student's participation and satisfaction towards online learning. Therefore, this finding is very important in order to improve the effectiveness of student learning time using online learning at UiTM Pahang.
