Abstract

The adsorption of carbon monoxide on iron films has been studied at 273 K and 77 K using quantitative adsorption, resistance change, work function change and thermal desorption measurements. At 273 K the heat of adsorption has also been measured, by a calorimetric method. Results from all these techniques are discussed in terms of the state of the CO adsorbed on the surface, molecular and dissociated.
