Abstract

This paper presents an outlook of the potential of the D-3He tokamak reactor to reach ignition condition associated with density and temperature profiles and average toroidal beta value on the plane of peak values n(0)τE−T(0). For this purpose, the global power balance equation at steady-state with no auxiliary heating power has been developed. The space-dependent ignition criterion is derived and the effects of β value, plasma density and temperature profiles for analyzing reactor ignition accessibility are investigated. Finally, the attained results have been compared to each other. The results demonstrated that plasma profiles and average toroidal beta values have a great impact on the ignition boundary lines and minimizing the n(0)τE.
