Abstract
It has been proven that, raindrop energy can be converted in to electricity by using piezoelectric mechanism. This paper presents an investigation of an array of Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF) piezoelectric transducer for harvesting raindrop energy. The transducers with dimension of 4 mm × 40 mm × 25 µm setup in bridge structure were used to harvest raindrop energy. The output voltage of an array of piezoelectric transducer connected in series and parallel were analyzed and compared through experiment. Results showed that, the PVDF piezoelectric transducers connected in array of 3 × 2 in combination of parallel and series configuration generated higher voltage compared to 6 transducers connected in series and connected in parallel.
