Abstract
A study of the interaction between a steel rib and concrete slab in the form of a T-beam has been carried out when circular bar shear connectors — straight and bent — are used to tie the two together. 1 4 - scale models are used for the test specimens and tests were carried out to failure of the composite beams. The phenomenon of splitting of the slab noticeable during experimentation and the question of the portion of slab width acting with the steel rib are examined by means of a relaxation solution of the plate problem.
