Abstract

Great discoveries and achievements in science have nearly always been associated with mathematics, the language of science. There are many types of scientific activities that can be used to challenge elementary-level children to discover for themselves quantitative relationships existing in the physical world. One such discovery that proved to be a challenging and rewarding experience for an accelerated Grade 6 class is the inverse square law.1
