Abstract
Abstract The Lesotho Highlands Water Project is one of the world's most ambitious multipurpose water schemes now in progress. Its sheer magnitude and ingenious engineering concepts have captured the imagination of engineers all over the world. This is an introductory overview of the project that will transfer water from the high-rainfall, high-runoff mountains of Lesotho to the thirsty industrial heartland of South Africa.
